"A cocktail of Blues, Rock and Folk with an Indie
twist" The Heat are Antonio Lulic and Ryan
Mitchell-Smith, an acoustic singing/songwriting duo based in Wakefield,
West Yorkshire. To quote a recent Lazy Cafe Press
Release:
"This local duo has burst into nearly every venue in
the area and left the audience wondering what? where? when? how?
etc!! This is mindblowing stuff..you will need a few minutes to collect
yourself once these two have finished with you! "
Antonio, 21, studies literature and writes profoundly lyrical songs, plays
acoustic guitar and has a stunning deep, powerful voice. No room for
argument there, as everyone who's heard him will agree.
Ryan, 26, has a First Class Honours Degree in Popular Music and Music
Technology and is a talented, prolific songwriter, a soft melodic voice
(the ideal mixer for Antonio's gravel tones) and a phenomenal
multi-instrumentalist, playing electric and acoustic guitar, bass, bongoes
and (according to reviewers) "breathtaking" harmonica.
Their material draws on influences as wide as Counting Crows, Radiohead,
Damian Rice, Sting, Dave Mathews, Paul Butterfield and John Mayer, but
the result is an increasing catalogue of fresh, original, superbly crafted
and performed material which defies pigeonholing. We
hope you enjoy looking round the new website.I It`s taken
a long time, due to many unavoidable delays beyond our control.
Not least of these was the fact that the band guinea pig, Colin, had a
major stroke. Funds had to be raised to send Colin to New
Guinea for swimming-with-dolphin therapy. To all
those who have sent cheques, cards, hay, and well wishes, thankyou. You
will be delighted to know that Colin is now almost back to normal. (Except
for the one-sided grimace) Please bear with us, there`s
much more to do. Keep checking the links, as all will be completed over
the next couple of weeks. Latest
